Rachel Catherall - Principal Of Elsberdance - A.I.S.T.D. (Ballet, Modern, Tap and National) - Trained at The Elsber School Of Dance and Merseyside Dance & Drama Centre, Liverpool. After graduating from dance college, Rachel danced professionally all over the world for many companies and cruise lines, including Chandris / Celebrity Cruises, working her way up to Dance Captain. Alexandra Wilson - A.I.S.T.D. (Ballet and Modern) and A.R.A.D. - Trained at the Hammond School Of Dance, Chester from the age of 11 through 19, she then went on to dance professionally and toured Japan and the far east in various dance companies. She is a freelance dance teacher and teaches ballet for the school.
Dawn Hughes - Conroy - A.I.S.T.D. (Modern and Tap) - trained at the Hammond School, Chester as a school associate from the age of four, taking ISTD and RAD exams. In 1999, Dawn went full time on the Musical Theatre Course. Dawn graduated in 2002 with a Trinity national Diploma in Professional Dance and teaching qualifications in ISTD Modern and Tap. In August 2002, Dawn began teaching at Aalesand Ballettskole in Norway and in 2003 choreographed the musical theatre production of My Fair Lady for the Norwegian National Opera. Dawn continued to teach at Balletskole and choreograph and perform for various other Norwegian companies until her return to England in 2004. On her return, Dawn taught for the Elsber School of Theatre Dance for a year, before going to teach at Ecosse Performer’s College in Scotland and in 2005, choreographed the touring production of The Lion King and the following year, the touring production of, Beauty & the Beast. In 2007, she returned home to Chester and now teaches for the Elsber School of Theatre Dance, the North Wales School of Dance and also at West Cheshire College.
Laura Mewes - Graduate of Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre, 2014. Here she completed 3 years of professional dance training in varying styles of dance including jazz, tap and ballet and achieved 'head girl' status. She also gained her I.S.T.D.teaching qualifications in both Modern and Tap. Previous to this training Laura was a pupil here at Elsberdance, where she trained for 6 years. Now a teacher here, Laura hopes to continue to instil the passion and discipline she gained during her time at the school. In 2015 Laura joined the cast of ‘Spirit of the Dance’ as an ensemble dancer. She has since gone on to complete two international tours with the company, a UK tour and most recently a 6 month world tour which toured around China, Dubai, Israel and Holland with the company. She has also performed at various corporate events with the company in the UK and will continue her work with them this year.
Dane William Bates - Dane started his professional training at Studio La Pointe in Leeds at the age of 18. After attending for a year, he then went onto train at the prestigious London Studio Centre on a full scholarship for the 3 year Musical Theatre course. Upon graduating, Dane began his career filming for the BBC TV series, Lilies, where he played a small role and featured in 2 episodes. Following that, Dane filmed the Chanel 4 and E4 Kieth Lemon tribute to Michael Jackson "Chamone Mofo Selecta" as a dancer and actor. Dane followed this by starting his theatre career dancing in Cinderella (Birmingham Hippodrome), followed by "Best of the Musicals" (European tour), understudy Beast in Bill Kenwrights "Beauty and the Beast" (Theatre Royal Windsor) later to dance in "The illusionists Live" (Hammersmith Apollo London, world arena tour). Dane danced in many fashion shows,corporate events and worked for Royal Caribbean cruise ships, as lead vocalist. Danes choreography career ran simultaneously to his performing career but started whilst Dane was training where he was asked to choreograph the main stage show at Pride London in Trafalgar Square.From then Dane went on to work with Xfactor finalists in a grand charity event raising money for a children's hospice. Dane assistant choreographed on a Bill Kenwright pantomime. Danes most recent work would include working with the Ballet West company in Edinburgh, 2 brand new and exciting cruise ship shows for Jammy Shows and productions opening on board the Norwegian Line this September, and also choreographing for the talented Jack Higgins on Britains Got Talent Series 10 first audition and Live semi finals.Dane has choreographed for many pantomimes working for Qdos and Imagine Theatre. Dane is an international teacher, teaching all workshops and masterclasses all over the world, including LA, Mexico, Greece, Barcelona, including be on the faculty at top U.K. colleges such at London studio Centre. Italian Conti, Bodywork, Studio 76 and Phil Winstons Theatre Works, Dane is really happy to working with the students at Elsberdance and nurturing the very talented students here.
Cassie Moffatt - Cassie has been a member of Elsberdance since she was 4 years old. While a student, Cassie was a member of theJunior and Senior Dance Teams and danced to an advanced level. She competed in many festivals and has choregraphed BuckleyPantomime and been assistant choreographer on many projects. Cassie now helps in the Primary - Grade 2 Tap and Modern classes,and teaches the Beginner’s irish Class. Cassie has recently graduated from Bangor University and is now a qualified Primary School teacher and will be taking her ISTD examinations in the near future.
